Yearning for the Source

Description

In the painting, the fish symbolizes the Jewish nation in all its shades, contrasts and factions.
Just as fish are united by the need of connecting to their source -the water, the Jews are united by the yearning towards their source -the Torah.
Which gives a new perspective to the sages’ saying “אין מים אלא תורה” -there is no water but the Torah.
