Description
The disciples (Hassidim) of the old Hassidic dynasty are wearing unique clothes for the Shabbat, a bright garment with golden stripes. On the eve of Shabbat, when the rays of the setting sun paint the houses of Jerusalem in golden colors, the Hassidim appear as angels coming out to greet the Shabbat Queen. In this painting, the Golden Hassidim are returning from the synagogue on their way to the Shabbat meal. Walking together is a result of the custom of “Minyan” where a prayer in a synagogue will be with no less than 10 people, and “Zimon” – at least 3 people during the meal.
