Description
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, whose grave is located on Mount Meron, spent 13 years hiding in a cave where he learned the secret wisdom of the Torah – the Kabala, and wrote it down in the book of Zohar. Every year, on the holiday of Lag B’Omer, hundreds of thousands flock to his tomb and celebrate with bonfires for several days. The painting depicts the scene of the mass pilgrimage to Meron, and the righteous and the Kabbalists who study the Zohar and use its power to protect the people of Israel.
